Testimonials

Jo worked with Leo (aged 3) helping him with some speech sounds he was struggling with. We’ve been amazed with how quickly these sounds have developed. Leo looked forward to each session as jo made these fun and engaging. He was also keen to do worksheets given afterwards to support the sessions.

Since Jo worked with Leo his preschool have commented that he is now interacting with more children rather than the couple he played with previously. He also seems much more confident and happily chats away to people we meet (which he tended not to do before the sessions). Jo comes highly recommend

Jo Baxter has been coming into Holy Family School for many years and her experience and knowledge has been an invaluable resource when working with individual pupils and staff.  She has assessed pupils, set appropriate targets and worked closely with our Communications Assistant.

Jo has regularly liaised with class teachers about pupils giving advice and strategies to help with pupils progress in class.  It has been lovely to be able to refer pupils to Jo and her to know exactly which type of speech and language intervention is needed.  This has included articulation, receptive and expressive issues, and many more. Her reports are detailed and the targets she sets easy to follow and carry out.  It is always a pleasure to work with Jo.

Kim Kemp, Speech and Language. Holy Family Primary School

Jo and Claire (The North Essex Speech Therapy Team) have worked with a range of pupils within our mainstream school and alternative provision who have speech, language, communication and social skill difficulties for over 5 years. The service that is provided is excellent, the knowledge, skills and expertise they provide goes above and beyond any other service we have previously used. Not only have they provided therapy in groups and 1;1 with pupils, they write care plans with targets for our staff to work on with pupils, model how the interventions should be carried out and also provide vital training for our staff. We would highly recommend North Essex Speech Therapy to all schools!

Jo has been a fantastic support to our Year 1 pupil. Jo has got to know them really well, tailoring the support to what they need and thinking of the right ‘hook’ to keep them engaged.

Jo is very personable and approachable. She has been a fantastic source of advice to staff and always ready to share ideas and guide next steps. She also provides excellent resources to support practising new skills. Her knowledge and expertise in this area is fabulous. Jo has attended One Plans and been a huge support to both staff and the family. She has gone the extra mile to help make sure the right support is in place.
